About

I'm KinfeMichael Tariku, an Ethiopian software designer and developer passionate about building open-source solutions that solve real-world problems. I've spent countless hours crafting code, contributing to the developer community, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with modern web technologies.
I'm the core maintainer of Better Auth, an open-source authentication framework for TypeScript that simplifies user authentication for developers worldwide. What started as a solution to a common problem has grown into a project with over 20,000 GitHub stars and more than 500,000 downloads. In March 2025, Better Auth was selected for Y Combinator's Spring 2025 Cohort, securing $500,000 in seed funding—making it one of the few Ethiopian startup to join the prestigious accelerator.
Beyond Better Auth, I'm the founder of FarmUI, where I focus on creating developer tools and UI components. I also serve as a Product Designer at Axiom, a Full-Stack Engineer at SellerSuite and open source contributions allow me to work across the entire stack—from design to implementation and contribute to projects that impact developers globally.
My commitment to open-source is reflected in my work: over 215 repositories, more than 5,700 commits, 15+ shipped projects, and contributions to 20+ open-source initiatives. With over 60,000 hours of coding experience, I've learned that great software comes from understanding both the technical details and the people who use it.
I'm also passionate about building community. I organized Better Hack 2025, a 24-hour hackathon in Addis Ababa that brought together developers, designers, and innovators to collaborate, learn, and push the boundaries of innovation. As a competitive programmer, I enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems and sharing my knowledge through technical articles and open-source contributions.
When I'm not coding, you'll find me writing about React, Next.js, Performance , Optimization , Security , bundler, TypeScript, and other modern web technologies, exploring new frameworks, or contributing to the open-source ecosystem. I believe in the power of technology to transform lives and communities, and I'm committed to building tools that make developers' lives easier, one commit at a time.
